Thanks, Patti! I'm glad you like my hats! Actually, the way I got started back on knitting was from my friend, Helen. She told me that she was knitting up squares to donate. There's a radio station in her area which takes the knitted squares and puts them together for charity. I had a big stash of yarn from many moons ago, so I thought that would be a good way to use them up. So I found a local charity that made stuff for preemies. I made some "tiny" baby hats, but they were very, very basic from a pattern the charity organization gave me. So actually, I got the get my feet wet making hats for preemies just the end of last year. Now that I think of it, that was a really good way to start because those hats are REALLY small, so I could see it progressing quickly and if it was gonna look like a hat. As Brian tells me, "There is profit in all labor." The preemies get hats, and I get practice! He likes it when I keep myself busy like that. Well, crafts for me is like alcohol addiction. Once I get started, I'm hooked. I just love them all. Problem is, my yarn stash has gotten bigger, not smaller!

Thanks for your comments. It's sure encouraging and gives me some ideas!

Oh Marla! These are adorable! Have you thought of having a little web store? Donating to the local hospital for newborns, etc? These are just so cute! I'm trying to think of someone to give one to so I could buy one off of you! My favorite is definately the green one with the scalloped edges. Very cool!
