Criminals Loose on “MY” Street

Posted in Anything goes, Hmmm Moments, Uncategorized at 1:05 pm by Administrator

Today is my youngest son’s birthday.  I’ve been cleaning all morning, and preparing food.  My parents were due here at any moment.  I was just about to leave to go and pick up my other son, but I can’t. . . So I thought I might sit down here and share what’s currently happening on my street. . . I would take pictures, but I don’t see anything going on in front of my house.  I would go outside to look around, but the policeman posted on the corner of the street motioned to get back in the house.  Turns out there are police cars on both ends of the street.  There are helicopters circling above.  My parents just called from their cell phone that the streets are blocked off.   They’re turning around and heading back home because they have no idea how long the street is going to be blocked off.  Interestingly, we’re hearing police interception on the cell call!  Can you believe that?  They’re really monitoring close!
What’s going on?  Turns out the police are chasing someone on foot, and he’s hiding in our neighborhood!  Just before this all started, Brian happened to be looking out the window while this guy was running past.  Next thing he saw was a helicopter following him!  I actually live in a decent neighborhood, so this is a first experience having to be told by police officials that I had to stay inside my house.  Oye!  All my doors are locked cuz I don’t want anyone trying to get in here to hide or take hostages!  Yikes!  Where’s my baseball bat?  Where’s the frying pans?  Heck, forget those!  Where’s me gun?

Okay, I’m really not that panicked, but I don’t like that Aaron’s birthday was spoiled by this!  At least we have all our supplies, but it looks like no one will be here to join us, now.  If we ever get wind of what happened, I’ll be sure to update.

Oop!  Now the police are speaking on the loud speaker to come out with your hands raised!  Oye!  Ha!  They’re saying, “Put down your weapons.”  Eek!  I’d better go. . .

Yakkadoo laters!
